Performa 09: Back to Futurism Published

In 2009 I wrote a series of reviews and responses to Performa 09, the performance art biennial organized and curated by RoseLee Goldberg and her staff. That year, Goldberg read my writing about the biennial and wrote to me to ask if I would contribute to the book she was compiling to serve as a document of the festival. I was happy to oblige, as I’m an admirer of her work and feel that the festival is important and rich with ideas.

The book, Performa 09: Back to Futurism, was just published and is now available for purchase. My piece is a short document of Anna Halprin’s piece parades & changes, which was re-enacted for Performa 09 after its original production in 1965.
